Cut exhaust or not?

I originally posted this in the exhaust section but it gets little traffic so hopefully this doesn't get moved...
i just got finished polishing exhaust on my SB, Borla stingers. It has a flange clamp behind the mufflers.
Next, the CO. Up on the ramps & I find the Flowmaster setup. Welded solid from tips all the way to x-pipe! Why not just cut it behind the mufflers & add a slip-flange? It would damn sure make it easier to remove for polish & future maintainence.
Would you or no?
