Whats the Numbers Cweil?

Don't know, it hasn't happened yet. I might know them in about 12-16 hours, though!

The car is running like absolute putrid hell. Sigh. Problem after problem after problem, and it's still got some. The only thing I couldn't fix is the 02 sensor, which took a dump and I don't have extras, so I'll have to pick one up from Ford tomorrow. Currently, it sounds like a Harley at idle (no vacuum leaks...it just does) and won't stay alive worth a $hit. I've played around with the tune a bunch to see what happens, and no matter what it does the same thing- or it'll get better, and throw something else off. I'm scheduled for about 5 hours of dyno time, and honestly I think I'm going to need 10. I'm skeptical...we'll see. I just can't see my car leaving before Thursday night.

And, of course, there are other little things. My steering rack is toast. I HATE my shifter. F'in Steeda. I knew I shouldnt've bothered again. I had to fix their dumb quadrant design, too (no bushings holding the quadrant in place laterally- uh, duh?!). My oil pressure sensor is defective, and I need to mess with the clocking and fitment of two guages.

I am going to be working around the clock to get there on Sat.

Well good luck in etting it all done, I hope that the problems go away soon. Can you just use an 02 sensor from the rear and dissable the rear ones?

Saturday is a no go.

Rick, you can't. The rear 02's function differently than the front and run off of different voltage, so it really won't work. I bought new ones today, which was good because the ones I replaced were completely carbony black and fouled out.

I figured the big problem out though- huge huge exhaust leak coming out of the slip fit collectors on the Bassani headers. So much for convenience (I borrowed the headers from someone). I knew it had a leak, because those ALWAYS leak, but it's really bad. Two other ball/socket flanges are leaking, too. This was what was causing each bank to read totally different- Bank1 would be adding as much as 40% fuel while Bank2 would be taking out 32%. WHOA. The leaks are what is causing that- generally they'd both be adding fuel, which makes sense, since the pressure inside the exhaust will suck air in before the sensors, so it'll think the car is running lean and will add fuel. Definitely doesn't help the tune, though. This is what I get for not doing the exhaust myself. Of course, the tip pipes are burning away at the rear valence, too. Sweet!

To fix the problem, we're moving the 02 bungs for the O2s and sniffer up into the primaries, so they'll read before the collectors. They might get a bit confused because of the reversion caused by the pressure wave slapping into the collectors, but it will be better than nothing.

It won't be on the dyno again until Monday, then. MAYBE Friday, but probably Monday. It's definitely NOT suitable for driving, anywhere. Stalls constantly, can't/won't idle (or if it does, it's erratic), switches between running super rich and lean every couple cycles, etc. In 30 minutes of idling, it DESTROYED the NGK Iridiums I put in it. Completely fouled and pitch black. You can't clean the iridiums either, so that was $48 (my cost, but they're like $65 normally) down the drain in a couple minutes.

That, and the PMS sucks. I should've done a complete stand alone when I had the chance. It would've been more expensive to go with a MoTeC then, but it would've saved a LOT of headaches now, since it doesn't require the usage of oxygen sensors, so it doesn't care about leaks. I really should've done that. I still might.

But, no car for saturday, and my boss wants me to work at the shop now anyway. Sorry guys.

C Weil, sorry to hear about the troubles, did you still need a set of stock headers, let me know I know where you can get a set locally. Thanks for the insight on the 02's as well....

Rick, really? I would pick up a set TODAY if you know where!! That would be awesome! Seriously, I don't care if it's in Oregon, i'd drive down tonight after work. That would be a way better option than moving the 02 bungs all around. Seriously, if you know a place, I'll go!

Thank you!!!

OK, OK, I'll go. Looks like it will be nice anyway. Geez, it's like nagging old ladys.

Dave, myself, my son in our v6 '05 'stang and a friend in his yellow Mach will be coming up to the casino together. See you then.
