was riding around today on lunch and noticed a considerable amout of spark knock @ 1/2 throttle acceleration....it hasn't been doing this that i have noticed. i haven't changed a thing...any ideas.

Whenever mine would do that under load like that it was always a tank of bad gas. Run it out and fill it back up.

you could always try throwing in a few gallons of 110 octane in the tank, or a good octane booster (ie:torco, lucas, etc). If it IS the gas thats causing it, then this should help.

Use dry gas.

check the plugs. that happened to mine. half the ground strap was missing and under light load it would run just fine because the coil was strong enough to jump the gap, but under load it was not. just a thought.
