Ford finally installing a V-8 in the new GT? On April 1?

That's like the cancer doctor coming out and saying all your tests show complete remission. Then all the nurses yell "April Fools"

But if it's true then now it might actually be worth that stupid high price.

Yep, April Fool's joke. The photo of the V8 is a shopped version of the V6. The guys in the background are wearing the same clothing and are standing in the same pose. The header and valve cover are duplicated. You can see a bit of discontinuity on the front bar of the engine stand where they removed a sign of some kind.

If anybody thought for a second that this was true given the date, then you're are the epitome of gullible.

considering that the TT3.5l is not only an OVERALL winner of the Daytona 24, but has also been absolutely FLAWLESS in the GT, with no reliability issues to speak of & trap speeds near the top of its class...

I don't know where you are getting your info from but it's very unreliable (no pun intended).

"The well-known racing adage “there’s no replacement for race conditions” proved true for the two-car Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT team, who debuted the No. 66 and No. 67 at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

"We certainly had our share of reliability issues, and that is not uncommon in a brand new car’s debut,” said Raj Nair, executive vice president, global product development, and chief technical officer, Ford Motor Company."

"Running three hours under our caution engine calibration (when the car is under yellow flag), and then finding out that is actually causing a problem."

Just saw who made the joke, not surprised his sense of American humor is a little off.

The cars are new and unreliable, the motors have been successful in Daytona Prototypes for years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbQqF45y-3g

...and what issue listed in that article can be attributed to the twin turbo 3.5l V6 that would be no longer be an issue with a different engine? the engine calibration? are you inferring that there is an inherent problem with turning the twin turbo 3.5l, but it only occurs when the engine is installed in the Ford GT, but not when it's installed in CGR's Riley Daytona Prototype?
