Top pulley has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on your alternator speed. Lower pulley only. Personally, I would call Metco and ask them what size alternator pulley you need to bring the alternator speed back to stock...then buy and install it. There is no sense in overspinning your alternator when you can fix it for $50.

I could be wrong, but I think the new alternator pulley is needed with a 6lb. lower only. But check with Metco, as recommended above.
