Does a 17PSI Whipple 2.3 = 600 RWHP?

Kinda curious here. My sig shows my results but I'm at almost 19PSI and at 19 degree's. Can a 17PSI setup lay down the same numbers with 23 degrees?

This is at sea level with 93 octane pump gas.

It's for comparision really. I have a bud going 17PSI at probably 20 degree's with a stock lower. He's planning on 600 RWHP SAE. I wan't sure it was possible but am trying to find out.

Just over 600 for me. RWTD tune, 18 deg timing, 11.8 afr, pump 93, 17lbs. 608rwhp, 589 rwtq SAE. IMO 23 deg is to much for pump gas. If you stay with the 100 octane you should be ok though.

Mike, Thanks for posting this thread.... Im hoping for 600rwhp with my Whipple and 17lb pulley/stock lower. so 20* timing is the norm at 17lbs?? This will net 600HP?

On my old blower I had 649/570 SAE with 17psi and 93 octane.

Yes you can get it with the setup you are looking at.

See sig. On pump 93 octane I was sitting at 19 degrees of timing and an 11.4-11.7 A/F.

I thought 18/19* was "max" for 93 octane and 17lbs. Are you guys running more timing or what? I'm hoping for 600plus with 17lbs. Then a race tune would be with 21/23*?

I'm staying with 17* with 93 and hopefully 17lbs when the Whipple goes on. Thanks Jeff. What's the most for racegas though?

You can run 23 deg on 100 octane and 17 lbs, and even 19lbs and 23 deg on 100 octane. 98 octane is perfect for 23 deg and 17lbs. Any more than 100 octane requires more than MBT spark to keep power from being hindered. Unless your running 20+ lbs of boost you don't need over 100 octane.

Good thread. If the OP doesn't mind, I would like to throw in a question since the discussion is already based around the whipple numbers

I've done my research but it didn't lead to any concrete answers. I need to have a safe 600hp on a daily driven Cobra. I have all of the supporting mods and then some. My current pulley combo would be 4lb lower and a stock whipple upper (3.5) with all of the idlers. I am hoping this will keep me at 17lbs of boost because I wouldn't want to go any higher on a DD. Will that actually happen or do I need to change my upper to something smaller like a 3.1?
Hissman or any other whipple gurus, can you chime in?
