My drying method starts with a quality wash, a gentle rinse from top-to-bottom to "sheet" the water off. Then I use a foam-core waffle-weave microfiber for an initial wipe on the flat surfaces and then "wheel and jamb" size waffle-weave towels for everything else. If I'm out of clean waffle-weaves, I use a plush microfiber.

I do prefer the standard waffle-weaves vs. the Autozone or Zwipes which have a geometric (for lack of a better term) finish and are a tad large to handle, even when folded-over.

Sheet the water then dry with a quality waffle-weave microfiber.

Go back and touch up any missed areas with qd spray and a plush MF.

The gas blower is fine too, but in all honesty this electric one i have (cant remember the name) is just as powerful if not more powerful than the last gas one i had. Plus with the electric you dont have to worry about the chances of oil/gas getting on the car from the blower.

Absorber FTW. I can dry my truck with it in under 5 minutes and it does a good job.
