Just curious. For the guys that have Track Apps and run e85, what is the AFR reading at idle?

E85 Stoichiometric is 9.7 vs Gasoline's 14.7.....so your track apps is worthless running E-85 because it flat lines at 10.0

I'm not running e85 but I am experimenting with e20, adding 2 gal. e85 to 14 gal. 91 octane e10 which gives close to 93 octane. Track Apps reading has not changed and the car runs perfectly.

The value on tracks apps won't change unless the tune is changed to reflect the correct stoicheometric value. The car "runs perfect" because the fuel trims are adjusting accordingly.

That's what I figured. It's a simple way of overcoming the California 91 octane limit and there should be enough adjustment in the ecu and reserve capacity in the fuel system to allow for this modest increase in ethanol content.

Yes the computer will adjust to 14.2 afr, but is that stoichiometric of your fuel?

(14 x 14.2 + 2 × 9.7) /16 = 13.6

Technically the car shoots for 14.2 (e10)

So you are running .6 lean. Then the real question comes in. What's your lambda on your tune??????

If your programming WOT shoots for .82 lambda (11.6 afr) and your fuel should be 11.15 afr you are only seeing .85 lambda.

Is it safe? Maybe. You might get more octane, but you are running leaner.

Hope that makes sense.

Even if I blended it to get e15, which all cars are rated for, would increase octane to 92.
