Ok so this has happened a couple of times, I drive out onto the main highway from a dead stop and punch it with traction control on. The wheels break loose and when I make the shift to 2nd and punch it again, traction control hooks me to the pavement and the engine bogs down hard and even though I have my foot slammed to the floor, the car doesn't pick up for a couple of seconds. My question is if this is just the traction control doing it's job or if there's something I'm f**king up.

That's traction control doing it's job. Happens to mine too if I forget to turn it off.

Mine does it when it's off. I do it getting on the highway. Oh wait maybe I didn't put the e-brake on and hold TC for 7 seconds. Hmmmmmmm

Just touch the TC button once post start up. This kills the TC and let's you spin at will, but Stability Control will still be active to keep you from swapping ends. It kicks in when your butt kicks out.
