Ok i gotcha i guess i can cover the filter and wash it with a hose and use a toothbrush for the hard to reach areas thanx!

Not really. If you drive in the rain when it's cold out do you crack your motor? Mine seems fine

True, but you're not getting the same volume of water on the motor, don't get me wrong, it gets wet with good rain showers but it's not like taking the hose and just spraying it down full blast.

I try to avoid standing water/big puddles as much as I can or slow down a good bit to avoid a tidal wave from splashing under my motor.
