Amsoil 5w30 and a wix oil filter or Royal purple XJR (or something like that) and a Napa gold oil filter (same as wix). Reason for these 2 oils only is because they have high levels of zinc phosphate which protects the best. 90% of the oils out there use very little of this because the carb or ase or whomever makes the rules had companies take it out because it "polluted more" which was total bull shit. Go over to bobstheoilguy.com and you'll learn A LOT about engine oil.

First of all, the synthetic oils I recommended are the best on the market. Absolutely no other automotive engine oil surpasses them. Talk to any top engine builder and they will say the same. They will also say to run synthetic for 500 then change the oil and do so every 3k after that.

Agree with the filters. BITOG site is good too but it pays to extend research beyond just that site.

Not a big fan of Royal Purple. Too many engine failures. Amsoil is good stuff.

Never use a group IV or V synthetic on a new engine. They are too slippery and the rings seat poorly. Group III "synthetic" (dino oil) is better but still not reccomended. Use a high zinc/phosphorus group II dino oil for break in, then go to the good stuff. Also, zinc and phosphorus were not reduced because they pollute more. They damaged catalytic converters, however this is not an issue with a true group IV/V synthetic because of the lower NOACK rating. In other words, it doesnt evaporate the additives into the cats.

Go hear (FAQ) for the story on 5W-20 VS 5W-30.

High load and high rpms. The first 20 minutes or so of runtime are the most crucial to really load the motor up and seat the rings.

You want high RPMs right away. The more you put a load on it, the quicker and better the rings seal. Don't baby it. Drive it like normal, or even harder.

Do not what has been suggested, it's not good advice.

Use the break-in instructions below:

Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power

Also, by no means should you sue synthetic oil during the break-in period.
