I used to say bottom was easier till i did it from the top a 2nd time and its by far the faster and less time intensive way to get it out. Once its out the removal of everything else is so much faster.

15 min to remove after removing interference from the bottom. Total less than 2.5 hours. I don't see how you can clear the headers (LT) pulling from top? also the radiator stays when pulling from bottom. don't see how you can quickly pull from the top and not mess up your radiator.

You can pull from the top with long tubes. It's def more of pain though.

not necessarily, i found it much easier to get it out with long tubes on if you put the rear of the car up on ramps to make the front slope down. I have mac LT and it comes out easily every time... and ive pulled it probably 10+ times. TBH there is no true guide, you need to do it once and learn from your mistakes, and the next time you have to do it it will be 5x faster, and faster each time after.

I helped my buddy do his 2weeks ago. And of course... Then I put a rod through the side of mine

Anymore details on this? You don't hear of these cars throwing rods very often at all. How much HP? what other relevant info?

Speeddemon,

Do you have any trouble clearing the brake master cylinder? I'm assuming not since you didn't mention removing it. Does the valve cover rub on the brake master cylinder during removal?

Thanks

Not speeddemon but I've pulled my motor. No you don't need to remove the master brake cylinder. I did wrap mine with an old towel though to prevent scuffing on the valve cover as I was getting it out.

Excellent! Thanks! I'm glad to hear that. Do you pull your radiator just in case?

Thanks

Starting to pull mine this week. Still debating on the top or bottom. I honestly think the bottom would be the easier way since I have a lift

Pulled mine from the top with the transmission. I removed the radiator for insurance. All the coolant was already drained.

With or without blower? Same question for reinstall?

With blower.the only thing that stays on the car is power steering and AC.i forgot about those.
Unplug harness from chassis
Remove vacuum lines from blower that go to chassis
Remove fuel feed line to rails
Remove IC tank and overflow tank
Remove radiator
Remove mid pipe
Remove ac compressorand power steering pump
Unplug heat exchanger lines
Remove driveline
Remove transmission cross member

After that hook up the motor to the cherry picker and lift till most of the weight is off the chassis.remove the bolts from mounts to block and up she goes.
