So as you can tell from the title, my cobra is running lean. It threw a code last week, I think it was p0171 (system lean bank 1 sensor 1)... I cleaed the code, and within 20 miles it came back and both banks were showing up lean... Cleared the code again and when it came back up, it was only bank 1 again, so I changed the front o2 sensor, gave it another 20 miles, and the same code came back... so the car is clearly running lean. My tuner, (very reputable) is busy for the next couple of weeks and this car is my daily driver so I cant really wait. I used my sct handheld and datalogged the car, but my dumbass doesn't know what half the shit means lol so is there anyone who can look at my data log file and possibly guide me in the direction of whats wrong with the car? if anyone can help, please pm me your email address so that I can send u the file

Po171/174...

Is a vac leak...very common and the most common area is pcv line on back of blower..the oem elbow crumbles. .

2 nd biggest area..pcv hose going under blower..this hose will harden and leak at nipple on lower intake..

I stuck my hand behind the blower and I can't really see or feel any cracked lines. It's the red pvc tubes that hangout behind the blower?

Be very carefull with those plastic lines...they break just touching them..

Stock blower can be pulled all as 1 unit with lower intake..

links have been posted as it should be in the how to do sticky..

So not in the mood to pull up blower but I guess I'm gunna have to start tomorrow ... Is it definitely a vacuum leak code ? Because I know I have a leak from the header to midpipe right before the 02 sensor, think that could throw the code?

Odds of leak causing issues is slim..

you have gotten codes for both banks.

the having 171 one time than 174 next time....

the pcv hose on any spot can cause both codes..

Its like 9 out of 10 times its this hose..

air filter and air inlet at throttle body can also give this code..

the gaskets on our cars last along time..and are a reuse if ok..

pulling blower as a unit is very easy..there are some tricks.

it can be lifted solo as unit...about 60 to 75 lbs at just a guess..

a 1st timer should be able to complete this in a day..

there is a intercooler inside..the only way to clean this is to remove it..

fords pcv system covers this with oil ...

this job is well worth its time and cost..
