That is what they look like. If I recall correctly, plates weren't introduced until 99.

Mine looks exactly the same on my 96' Mystic. If I didn't know any better I'd have thought you posted a shot of my tag.

I think they might have been introduced in 98. My buddy has a 98 cobra and it has a metal engine tag.

I bought my engine out of a wrecked 97 Cobra and it is the Metal tag not the sticker that was on it.

The SVT plates came out in mid 97. Late 97 Cobras and all 98 and up Cobras had the plates attached to the passenger side valve cover. If anyone is interested I still have a handful of blank plates available.

There is no way to know for sure unless you could match what is left of the signatures to another vehicle with the same names.
