Ever win BIG?

I never win shit. Kid I went to high school with won 100k on a scratch off. Ex girlfriends friend won a side by side from a raffle.

Nice. My $50 win was a lottery ticket that I matched 4 out of 5 numbers. And the number I didn't match was only off by 1. I would've won $25,000.
Won $300 once. Guy at work hit thr million lotto. Promptly quit.
I don't buy raffles or lottery tickets very often...I'd guess I spend around $20 a year on 'em. I do like to play Blackjack at the casino though. I go 2-3 times a year.
I won a pie eating contest in high school.

I never gamble or buy lotto tickets either. I even don't mess with casinos when I go to Vegas.
And you didn't get a scholarship? There had to have been talent scouts in the stands

I always wonder if anyone really wins those $500 offers by completing the surveys on the bottom of receipts, say like Best-Buy or Taco-Bell....
Someone hit the lotto..... or knows his wife will read this and wants her to think that's who he meant.
My Dad entered me in a Miller Lite raffle one time. I didn’t even know about it. One day I get a voicemail from some guy saying I am one of 50 finalists. Of course I ignore it. The next day I get another call from the same number. No idea why but I answer the call. So I’m told I’m one of 50 finalists to win a Jeep Sahara or $20k cash...and the drawing is at a local bar...and you have to be present to win. Well, the odds aren’t bad...and it gets me a night out for a few beers...so why not? My wife didn’t want to go ( work night ) so I called a buddy and off we went.
The winner would be revealed around 11pm so we had 2-3 hours to kill. Around 10:30 they call the contestants to the middle of the bar. 12 bottles are in a small tub...one for each finalist who showed up. Holy shit! Only 12 possible winners? My odds just got better!
So I pick near the end of the pack. On the bottom of my bottle is #12. Oh well - that’s as good as any number I guess. The girl running the show says each contestant gets a numbered key...and only one key will start the Jeep. And of course we start with the person who pulled bottle #1. Now I’m a little bummed, as I probably won’t even get a chance to try my key since I’m last to go.
#1 goes....nothing. #2...nothing. This is a little fun now; especially with a few beers in me. #3, 4, 5, 6.... nothing. My buddy says this is getting interesting and says he likes my chances. “**** yeah me too!” I say. #7, 8, 9 and 10...holy shit still no winner.
Yep...here is where I get screwed. Has to be. I never win shit. I gave #11 a “Good luck!” handshake ( heck no I didn’t mean it but it seemed like the good sport thing to do, right? ) and watched him get in and turn the key.
Nothing!!!!
Holy crap I just won! It really was crazy. 100+ people were cheering as I jumped in and cranked up the Jeep. It was a night I’ll never forget. What a blast. I will have to dig up the photo.
So of course I have to call my wife. And, of course, she KNOWS I am pulling her leg. But I wasn’t. It took a minute to convince her ( I guess I tease her too much? ) but she finally believed me. Heck - I even called and woke my parents to give them the news.
At the time money was pretty tight, so I took the cash prize. I even split it with my parents, since Dad signed me up in the first place. I wish I could say I spent the money on a bunch of mods, but it all went to home improvement projects.
So there’s my story. Since that day I have never complained about not winning anything.

I won a $300 Canon camera when I worked at Best Buy in high school. Had to complete those eLearning things on the computer and I guess it entered you to win a prize. Went to work one day and someone called saying I came in like 2nd place (1st place was a full blown DSLR). Few days later a camera showed up in the mailbox. I actually still have that camera some 8 years later.
Don't play the lottery much. Usually only buy a ticket when the jackpot gets to some crazy high amount.
I've entered to win most American Muscle giveaways since they usually send out emails about them. Always wondered what that would be like. Having to go out and pay taxes, registration and title fees. Sounds like a real hoot!

Haha Smooth - I was paranoid about the damn phone fritzing out and losing paragraphs of typing so I had to save periodically.
