EXCLUSIVE: Whipple 2.9L for the 2010-2011 6.2L SVT Raptor

Alright guys... As always the crew here at Lethal Performance is always committed to bringing you new product releases and exclusive never seen before content. This time we're gonna rock out with some new Whipple 2.9L madness for the 2010-2011 6.2L SVT Raptor.

Below are a few pictures I was sent of the 2.9L Kit for the Raptor. Here's also a little info about the kit itself.

2.9L Raptor Kit
Front Feed
123mm CAI MAF, 9" S&B true flow filter
Massive air-to-water intercooler
MSD pump booster with variable voltage control
GT500 throttle body or optional twin 75mm or mono blade
Massive 2" intercooled air-bypass system
Uses factory fuel rails
Fits F150, F250 and Raptor
700HP expected
63lb/hr fuel injectors

Pretty sick, but why not start with the 2.3L? An extra 100-150 hp would be cool, but I don't see a ton of Raptor owners shooting for 700+

Come to FORD RAPTOR FORUM - F-150 SVT Raptor Forums and you will see thats different. Lots of interest in this kit. Several guys already have 500+rwhp raptors.

With the larger displacement of the 6.2L you'll need more air than the 2.3L is capable of flowing to make big power. Not that the 2.3L isn't capable of making power on the 6.2L but the 2.9L is a much better fit. It's going to flow more air at lower rpms and be far more efficient due to that.

I am on both sites as well and VERY interested. I have been really missing the whine of my GT500 since trading it in on my Raptor....

Whipple is currently in talks to get a Raptor to their shop to mount one up, I was talking to them about using mine but had to back out so I passed on the info to one of our fordraptorforum.com members. They released a pic on their facebook of the completed lower intake. They told me the timeline would be 8-12 weeks.

The Whipple 2.9L test kit for the 6.2L Raptor was installed and fired up today. Here's a few pics that Dustin sent me. The truck will be tuned in the next few days. Wonder who's tuning it?

Front view of the Whipple Ford Raptor Supercharger System. As you can see the Raptor system uses the GT500 throttle body. Expect BIG gains by going to larger aftermarket GT500 throttle bodies.

Oversized heat exchanger and water reservoir for consistent intercooler coolant temps. You can bet we'll be working on a fanned heat exchanger setup once we get our hands on the stock one.

Our buddies over at Whipple just sent us some insider information:

They've tested their new 2.9L kits for the SVT Raptor and the results are in!

With the base kit, including a GT500 throttle body, the kit put out an impressive 520rwhp @ 5700rpm, and 500ft/lbs torque @ 3600rpm. This was at 8.5 psi and on 91 octane.

An available upgrade will be the Whipple billet twin 75mm throttle body, which adds 25hp and 15ft/lbs torque.

This news only means the release of the kits is closer than ever!

Just curious, what kind of rods and pistons does the 6.2 have from the factory?

Well anyhow, knowing that the coyote 5.0 can handle well over 500rwhp reliably, I'm thinking the 6.2 can too.
