I have a couple foam liners I use. Picked them up at a car show. I went fancy and got the one that says Cobra on it.

I have a couple of old Snap on ones that I have had for decades, I am thinking I might spring for a couple of Ford ones from LMR one of these days

I’m poor, and my cars are trash so I just lean on the fenders with my Texas belt buckle. :D

Kidding aside I actually use masking tape, or if I’m feeling spunky there is a plastic almost film I had at one time.

it's funny how these aren't that much of a common thing anymore because new generations don't work on anything themselves

I use an old craftsman one when I do. Only if working on it for a long time or resting something there, which is un-usual.
