I have broken 2 now and think it has something to do with an aftermarket quadrant. I had the stocker for 60,000 miles with no problems and then i installed a upr triple hook and i had a cable break within 2,000 miles. Thought nothing and installed a new cable and that one broke within 5,000 miles. I think it has something to do with the bare braided steel rubbing against the sharp edges of the new quadrant. Just food for thought.

which hook do you have it on?? You might be putting too much tension on the cable.

I have heard of some quads cutting through cables. I've used Steeda's on 2 cars for over 100K and had no issues.

UPR quadrants are breaking clutch cables all over the place:

Let this be a warning to all those with a UPR quadrant, keep a spare clutch cable in your trunk for when it finally breaks your cable...or better still, just yank the mofo out and get a STEEDA one.

Factory cable or aftermarket, seems like on this board quite a few have broken aftermarket cables and not so much with factory ones.

I had the total opposite experience.. Steeda quadrant killed my first clutch cable and the Triple hook i have on now has been very faithful... so far.. Guess it's a crap shoot. Good luck

I think a lot of it depends on the alignment of the quadrant on the shaft and where the cable comes into the firewall. I noticed that UPR does not provide spacers for this and I know a major issue with cable wear is binding and such due to this alignment. That would be my guess why the UPR kit seems to have problems and the Steeda and Fiore kit do not.
