so reccently my gas pedal has been getting stuck after going wot. ive already had the plate installed for the carpet issue a few years back. so whats happening is after i go wot the pedal just stays down and pops back up. when i had the car off i played around with it to make sure it wasnt the carpet or anything. when i press down fully on the gas pedal i can feel a click and thats when it gets stuck, when i tried to pull it out manually it would just go back down to the stuck position and would eventually pop back out on its own after a few seconds . has anyone ever experienced this?? i havnt had too much time to take a real good look. maybe later today. im runnin stock tb btw. thanks in advance.

Had accufab stick. If the tb sticks the pedal will have no pressure because the cable has slack. How does the pedal feel when it happens

Over the summer I had the car in 2nd car and put it to the floor and the car started screaming off the rev limiter once I went to shift into third. I knew what it was and instantly turned the car off. I popped the hood and the throttle cable came off of the little path it runs down and got cought wide open. It takes two seconds to fix. This might have happened to you. I know there is a write up on fixing this issue. I never did anything to fix it and it hasn't happened since.

when it gets stuck the pedal pretty much goes limp and is just hangin with no tension.

Definitely sounds like the throttle cable. It usually happens when you jab the throttle really quick. If you eased into it, it wouldn't happen.

Throttle could be getting caught on the hose clamp that attachs the intake elbow to the throttle body. Might need to loosen the clamp, spin it out of the throttles way and retighten it back down.

This has been a problem in the past for the Mach 1's, not 100% sure on the cobras but worth a shot.
