Good Race Comming Up for Me!

Iam going to race a 1998 AUTO Z28 mods are Ypipe with Mufflers,
Cold Air Kit, Throttle Body. This is the year i think they came with 293 gears or something like that!

My Car 2000 GT AODE mods are
373 Gears
Cai
xpipe
catback
UD pullys
Chip
and extra clutches in the tranny

we are racing off the hole from a dead stop what do you guys think we will be the out come?

I raced a Auto LT1 Z28 and Trams AM and i have beat them before!

You shouldnt have a problem, Thats probably a high 13 second car. Eat his a@% alive.

They came with 3.23 gears.Honestly I would think the Z28(LS1) would win.Both are auto so really no driver error.Good Luck!!

I dont think so, I ran a 1997 Z28 auto with a high 3 something gear, forget what they run in those, and dynomax true duals, with a cam, and he couldnt lose me at all in my BONE STOCK shattered clutched 2000 GT, you should be able to take him. But definately no promise s here.

I did a little research his car has 293 gears! the 1998 was the first year with the Ls1. The Auto came with 293 gears with a option on 323 gears the Manual's all came with 323 gears

plus he told me they came with 293

Good luck, forgot about them being LS1 that year, my dad had a 2002 ls1 6 speed, and yours or my Gt wouldnt touch it any day of the year.

323 gears standard gear 98-up LS1 342 option gears M6.You mean 273 gears that they use up till 97(LT1) then option for 323.I know I had 1 I bought brand new.

1997(LT1) totally different 1998(LS1).He shows he runs [email protected] with those mods (LS1) probally run 13.2@109 if not better.

No i checked for the 1998 first year of the ls1 in the z28 auto came wth 293 gears and a option for 323'the manual ones all came with 323's and you can say what you want but a Z28 Ls1 stock does not run 13.2 they run 13.8 to 13.5's at most and his car is Auto so there is no way he is running a 13.2 the best he ever ran was 13.8 with a cutout and k&n drop in filter with the open air box! My best was a 13.5.

i have a freind who has a 02 Ram Air Trams AM he went 13.4 with a cutout as well but thats a RAM AIR different car!

First I didn't say stock LS1 okay, second you list mods of car i'm saying with drags or slicks 13.2 for LS1.Second I own LS1 01SS and with few bolt on and drag radials I ran 12.5@112 mph.And they came with 323 (No such thing as 293 gears) go over to LS1.com ok.Or better yet show me prove.I already know + did a search.My opion is this a stock GT(auto run best 14.5's) wher a stock LS1(auto will run 13.80's).

He told me himself he had the lower gear in the car! If he is not telling the truth then ohh well and Stock AODE GT do not run 14.5's my friend they if you kno how to take it off the whole you pull a low 14sec pass i have seen many run 14.2 and 14.3 in stock form and the 5 speed can run from a 14.1 to a 13.9 in stock form i did my research as well! you are right about the Ls1 running 13.8 but not about the GT's!

Answer: If you have a 6 speed transmission you have a 3.42 rear end, that's the only ratio available. If you have the automatic transmission there are two available ratios, 2.73 and 3.23. You can tell which one you have by looking at the codes inside the driver's door. Code GU2 means you have 2.73s, code GU5 means you have 3.23s. With the 3.42s & 3.23s you also get an aluminum driveshaft, with the 2.73s you get a steel one.

Yeah I know that but they only put them in stripped models(basically no options)Does he have a stripped down Z28+ do you think that mods he has done would not have gears.I say run find out.Stock GT (auto) running low 14's well thats pretty good.Best i've seen is 14.7@98 mph(bone stock 03 GT(auto) to the air paper air filter with silencer in.

I still think with his mods pull a low 13's(with drags or slicks) Also looking at your mods and time really good.13.5@104mph 60ft 2.2 hell that as quick as the Mach1 you must have a freak GT or something (little mods you have).

No 13.5 is normal for what i have being AODE if i where 5 speed i would run a little better but my time is fine! ANd Mach 1 run low 13's i see them run 13.3 to 13.0 at the track stock!

My 60ft was horrible and i was on dr radials.

And i don't see anything little about my mods

Whats mods are you talking about? all he has is a CAI, Ypipe,TB

thats it and yes his car does have the 273 gears! He told me himself and i double checked on line!!


As far as the 14.7 GT that is HORRIBLE i have never seen a 99+ GT run a 14.7 AODE run that in my life the lowest was a 14.59 at the track i mean yea first timers may run that hell the first time i ever ran my car i ran a 15.4 the next month i ran 14.5 i learned to launch it and so on you know! So maybe that was the case my best stock time was 14.4!

the 96-98 AODE GT's yea! those are cows those run low 15's to high 14's

To tell you the truth i kno the key to my car is the tune! The boys over at MAK PEROFORMANCE in Hialeah got my car running sweet as hell the shift points are awesome and 1st and 2nd gear are quick as **** in my car and i have a real strong 3rd gear!

The tunning they did was awesome! Iam having problems now but they will soon be fixed. I want to Win this race if that means i come out in slicks then ohh well!

Ohh Yea it will take place at the track after all these Hurricanes here in south florida!
