Nice comp. I was about to buy an AlienWare PC but what I wanted with it, was gonna be about 4 grand.. LOL. So I built my own, but now I need to upgrade so I can play Crysis.

hey man, nice PC

Being as i own an alienware I am free to comment

GREAT computer......... until your customer service contract is up

I bought the very first alienware laptops. The sentia. First computer with the intel centrino .

Bought it my freshmen year in college, 2003.

Back then, that laptop blew away any desktop on the market in peformance.

Now, i hate it. Im pissed i spent $3000 on it.

But hey, it gets done what i need here (papers and such)

But word of advice to alienware owners, get a long customer service contract, because once its up, they treat you like you dont exist.

Nice Alienware... I have one myself. Fastest PC I have ever had, pricey but nice as hell.

of course its the fastest pc you've ever had, its your most current one!

As for alienware, like everything else out there, you pay a premium for the money. A computer is a computer is a computer. No matter who puts it together, it requires all the same parts to function, just different "models" with different capabilities.

Don't get bitchy when someone speaks the TRUTH. That computer would be less than half the price if you built it yourself and that's all that's been said.

I highly doubt I could build this computer from scratch for 1000 dollars, I got this for under 2k, my family friend "uncle Rob" is the VP of sales. BTW I don't mind spending the extra money for it, that's why I did it. Im not getting bitchy, Im just sick of what this sight is becoming. Ppl seem to be talking shit even more for no reason.

I built my own system recently: It cost me about $2500 including Vista Ulitmate 64 Bit

Intel Pentium D System

Case: ThermalTake Armor VA8000BWS Full Tower w/Antec 650W TP3 PSU
Processor: Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4GHz) Retail
Cooling: Retail HSF
Motherboard: ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium
Memory: 2x1GB Corsair XMS2-6400 (TWIN2X2048-6400C4)
Hard Drive: 1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB SATA
Video Card: GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB
Monitor: Acer 22" LCD
Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
Speakers: Logitech THX Z-5300e 5.1 Speakers
DVD-/+RW: Liteon 18x DVD+RW/-RW + Lightscribe
Communications: Onboard LAN
Mouse: Logitech MX Revolution Laser Cordless Mouse
Keyboard: Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard
Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit

Everything except the mobo was purchased at a few local shops. I could have shaved $150-200 off the price had I shopped around online but it was an impulse buy and I needed gratification - INSTANT!

I basically bought the High End Pc Gaming System as recommended by Sharky Extreme in January.

I'm very happy with this system it runs Vista great, the DX10 demos looks great and Quake 4 plays awesome. I was also able to run Creative Suite 2 with no problems and a few other programs that I use. I've had 1 BSD which was caused by Norton Antivirus. Overall it is much more stable than Windows 2000 was in 1999 when I purchased an AMD Athlon that was comparable in performance back then to my new system now. That Athlon still runs great and I still use it for emails, downloads and music. It can play Quake 3 @ decent framerates but would choke on q4.

Very cool, I would have built mine, but I didn't want to spend the time looking for compatible components, and gathering everything. I checked the price on the PC I have, comes out to about 3k and is very similar to what you built. The price looks similar too, you do save about 500 when you build it yourself, but some people seem to believe that you can get all that and build it for less than 1k.
