if it makes you feel any better .... the first ride i ever raced in my lightning was a 03 cobra ..... wasnt a good site since i didnt even know how to drive my L at the time and was use to a fwd 4 banger turbo ......

first car to rev up on me when i got my L a month ago was a damn Z06 with a nasty sounding cam as i was checking the tire pressure

I see 11 second vehicles everyday. But then again tampa is full of them. A Cobra with dr's and a small shot juice and we don't stand a chance unless we are knocking on 10's door.

dont feel bad man , i ran 2 mustansg this weekend ,,96gt and 99gt both killed me out of the hole and i hade to play catch up ...i didnt loose but god this truck has to much power and no traction ....

It is only hopeless if you insist on doing it, and not learning from it.

Frankly, I saw the Shelby GT500 concept powerplant and loved the hell out of that!! Sort of tempts you to switch over to the car.

...but the guys who drive the stock trucks should leave the modded 'Stangs alone unless they are up for either investing in mods or into disappointments.

Since Ford isn't into producing a new Lightning with the '04 F150 body-style, that leaves some of us powerplant traders with upgrading the motor, not the vehicle.

damn...somebody find me an aluminum block GT engine, heads, and forged internals!!! :cryying: 500 HP would be the order of the day.

The way I look at it is It is a truck. If I can smoke most vettes and stangs and camaros I'm doing pretty good. There is always someone faster, smarter, taller, richer, etc, etc. If I race and get smoked I flip the guy a :thumbsup: and know that I had a good time either way.
