lol. They are usually stuck a free clinics and they are the ones NOT volunteering...
at least i can agree with this. and the d- doctor vs. the a+ one?? well, that is why you should do your research. i'm sure you research where to take your race car to get it dyno-tuned, maybe you should do the same when you need surgery.

From your post about surgery i understand you are a doctor and for that i commend u, i understand it took ALOT of working getting there. You pry took the email to heart but really is there a need to be a complete dick? did the OP say this thread reflects my personal opinion? no he just posted a email that he thought was funny and maybe some people would get a kick out of it. So why dont you pull the pine cone shoved up you a$$ and get a life or a sense of humour!

My wife works for a simple family practice office - the kind that specializes in these 'non-deadly' situations you speak of. They have been involved with patients who were brought in who were actually dying. They have to call 911 for patients at least twice a year. For some reason, some people are just more comfortable taking whatever ails them to their family doctor, instead of the ER.
Also, take note that even family practice doctors and foot specialists have to intern at a hospital before they can start their own practice.
Although you are right, in that some specialties just don't face life-or-death everyday, it's the "EVER" portion of your statement that is just plain ignorant.

Doctors who treat and diagnose properly avoid "death situations." A simple improperly diagnosed infection can lead to death.
Most docs arent faced with "emergent" situations on a daily basis, but their inaction or misdiagnosis can lead to that.
So your statement is inane and inaccurate.
Who said hes a doctor for all you know he could be a nurse.

BTW-i'm a project coordinator for an industrial development company that builds very large utility/power plants. currently working on a 4billion dollar project. i can't say i'm a dr. , but i too bring home the bacon to momma
