Wouldn't that be funny if in FandF when he says, "You owe me a 10 second car" he just pulls into the lot with this beast ??

Cool car and at one time they were going for over $200000. I have a friend that used to work on them back in the 60s and he said they only ran mid 12s stock. The dealership that he worked for sold more of them than any other dealer and I think they were less than $3000.

Cool car, but i still find most cars built between 62-67 fiercely ugly. I'm sure that is a fast ride though.

They only reason they are so much money is because of the "storied history" of those cars .
I was 12 in 1964....
My dad took me to work(Ford dealer ship... of course) to see one in the body shop that had come off the trailer on the NY state thruway.............WOW!!!----> I was hooked for life!!!!!
When the body man fired that beast up......... OMFG!!!! pucketa pucketa pucketa .......BHHHWWAAAAAAAAWWWWW
I am finding it difficult to describe what my 12 year old senses were going through...
In 1968 I bought my first car...
Not a Thunderbolt but a 1964 bright red Fairlane sport coupe.... 289 HiPo (K code)...4 speed... buckets ...411 "equalock"( before tractionlock)..9" rear....
HOG HEAVEN!!!

Here's some more shots of a super rare push rod hemi Mickey Thompson T-Bolt
Enjoy!!!!!
