I have redline on my 08 and love it. I had MRT on originally but they ust the hinge and that got in the way of my strut cover. Yes it matters if it is stock or aftermarket hood. The aftermarket hoods are usually fiberglass which is a lot heaver so need a stronger strut cylinder.
If you have an aftermarket hood be careful. I've read reports of struts causing the hood to bow.
I have a CF hood on mine and bought "lighter" struts but they were so light it would barely hold the hood up :/
Went back to the prop rod, but I do miss having hood struts
Call me crazy but I love my simple, reliable prop rod.

So I have a suggestion for you LT48. Remove your factory trunk struts and install a prop rod. LOL. It reminds me of my 70 Boss 302 which had a trunk prop rod...
