Today I calculated my mods and figured that I have almost $3,000.00 into mods alone. I can't see that much but the money is in there. From an investment point of view, this car sucks. What a sinkhole; however, every time I drive the car, I forget how much money I put into the car and just enjoy the ride!!

How could a depreciating asset be considered an investment...? That said, about $3,000.00 in parts, installation costs, car care products, maintenance and tools. More or less. Every time I drive the car, I forget how much money I put into the car and start thinking about my next mod!!

Makes more sense now...did you do the install yourself?

I see a lot of people seem to be getting screwed by the mechanic\shops for the install price.

I have the benefit\good fortune of "mikestoyz" to help with the installation.

(Are we including tax?)

WheelHop kit=475
Platinum tint and Viper alarm=325
Silver Snake on Black floor mats=free (Christmas is king ;-) )
Bassani catback x-pipe=1200 including installation
DC CAI=150
Diablo chip=359
Two pulley's=169
black-to-silver reflective COBRA lettering=70

TOTAL=ROUGHLY 2750

Chip and pulley haven't been installed yet. DC CAI is getting a facelift, compliments of Demolet Motorsport. Even though it won't be true, it'll feel like a free 75rhp when it's all said and done ;-)

What guages did you add. I notice no power adding mods with exception of the exhaust. Maybe thats why you think it sucks.
$425 - exhuast mods(custom 3" O/r H-pipe and catbk/flows)
$100 - 2.80 pulley
$350 - Diablo chip
$200 - UPR CAI
$40 - Belt
$1115 total------------125rwhp/150rwtq added. I don't think it sucks!

DenseCharger CAI - $150
MagnaFlow Catback and X-Pipe - $720
MagnaFlow install - $100
Pro 5.0 - $150
MGW Handle - $35
New rear end - Free, under warranty

Total - $1,155

Car now has improved throttle response, better positive shift, MUCH better exhaust sound - oh, and I guess the roughly 63 additional HPs aren't bad either. :-D That is all I am going to do, not bad considering I spent about $4k total to get my GT to acceptable levels - and it still needs shocks and struts! I would not call this car a money pit.
