Since it uses a generic set of parameters it will get you in the neighborhood, but can't be too accurate because of the many variables, like weather, traction and driver skill to name a few.

I use a program called Drag2000 that allows many more data points to be input. It is still a simulation and has it's limitations, but it allows you to change gear ratio's and see how that affects your car among other things.
