Ive been in the 4V market for a while and i know that generally a Mach 1 with LTs and cams put down mid 300hp to the ground. So what should a 5.0 put down with LTs, cam, and a decent set of heads? Im thining about going to a 94/95 GT and want to see how the hp levels compare since ive never had a 5.0

h/c/i and supporting modded foxes put around 300 to the ground, give or take 25ish or more horsepower depending on the setup and tune. The 94/95's from what I understand have a more finicky computer so tuning will probably be a necessity.

a stock 99+ 4.6 DOHC is going to put to the ground pretty much what a heavily modded 5.0 will.. and the sky is the limit on the 4.6.. (the airflow on the DOHC heads is just so much better than the 16 valve heads on the 5.0)

H/C/I 302 will see ~315rwhp/~350tq. That is using a mild combo, like the Trick Flow top end kit. 4v make more HP, but lack in TQ. My 5.0 and Mach make close the same power, the Mach having 4.30 gears, and the 5.0 having 3.27s. The 5.0 pulls like a freight train, completely different feeling.

Nice coupe . I like the matching wheels for the cars.

The coupe. The Mach feels like it runs out of breath after 5500, the coupe will pull to 6500 easily. Even with the 3.27 gears in the coupe, I have 0 traction in 1,2, and going into 3rd.

Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races :D

5.0's are some fun mofo because as mentioned they feel like stump pullers. Lots of lowend grunt. Another thing already mentioned is Foxbody are fast for the HP they make compared to SN95 based Stangs..

well a 5.0 is about 170-200rwhp stock, bolt ons 200-240rwhp, a 5.0 will be making around 240-300rwhp for mild basic h/c/i setup like ported stock heads or full bolt on cam only etc gt40 heads, a average trickflow setup or afr with more done to it or ported gt40's around 260-300rwhp or a built 306 more compression your looking @ around 300-350rwhp esp with larger AFR heads or ported / out of the box trickflows , and stroked around 350-450rwhp+

If you're really wanting to make some good N/A #'s with a SBF I say ditch the 302, and step up to a 351 based motor and build you like a good 408w/427w IMO.

I'm guessing that has more to do with weight difference than the power under the curve.
