Is there a thread that anyone can point me to that has tips for drag racing at the track? I'll be taking my car to the track for the first time in a week and a half. The only racing I've got experience in is street and autoX. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be running some MT slicks 28x10, I'm not sure what model tire as a friend of mine has offered to let me run them. As far as other mods; Pulley, tune, CAI, ProcChamber, Magnaflow catback, single blade tb and plenum, and some cooling and suspension mods. I'm forgetting a couple of things but nothing major. Suspension stuff includes IRS brace, upgraded IRS bushings, Eibach pro lines, and a few front end pieces parts the don't matter for drag racing.

Tires look good...you'll have to play with the TP!! ....I'd start around 13-14psi & go from there!! First pass, I'd come out around 3200-3500 rpm's and also go from there!

Your suspension looks to be close to mine...minus the upgraded IRS bushings! 3755# with me driving!

My results coming out at 3200 rpm's...Best of luck!!!!! :burnout:

Most tracks require a drive shaft safety loop for manual shift cars running slicks.
Might want to check and see what your requirements are. You wouldn't want to get to tech and find out you need one and have to revert back to street sneakers.

We're you slipping the clutch at the launch? I'm dumping it at 5500 and could only pull a 1.7 60 on 26in et streets. Kinda bogged a bit too. Hopefully some more helpful tips come into play for op. i could use them too lol

What benefit does removing the front sway bar do? I never heard of this.

Need one with any car running slicks also need longer wheel studs to i believe

I am pretty sure it helps with weight transfer to the rear of the car

Thanks for the good info everyone. I do have a driveshaft loop so I'm good there. That said I helped my buddy get his car finished up this last weekend so he'll be using the slicks instead. So now I'll be on my street tires, I'll most likely just spectate now. My tires are pretty shot, plans were to replace them next spring when I get different wheels.

You don't have to completely remove the sway bar. Removing one of the end links, either side, should net the same results. Obviously removing it completely lowers weight though.

Hey Tim, or anyone else that knows. Aside from grinding the calipers, what else was needed to fit 28x10x15's? I'm all set as far as other safety requirements. My buddy was only going to make a few passes and then let me run his slicks for a few as well. I just want to be aware of any fitment issues that I may run into. We'll be test fitting them on Saturday but I would just like to have a plan of attack already in mind. thanks again for all the insight guys.
