get some MT's on the back and then laugh all the way.

Let HIM spend the money trying to catch your car.

Bet him the amount that you want to spend on your mods, he will feel the pressure.

Let the car do the racing. you just are in it for the ride. Cobra's ain't NO joke especially in these situations.

For the wheel hop the 04 cobra IRS axles would have held together but we didn't notice a bad wheel bearing going in the left wheel it is what caused the excessive hop James wasn't able to let off the gas in time the axle broke and we went with dss axles instead of stock. They don't step down it is the same diameter all the way across and chrome moly. But they would have broken also because the wheelhop was very violent with the bearing being bad. Best thing check to make sure that is not one of your problems.
