I think I hurt my motor

At idle after the car is warmed up my motor is knock knock knocking away. Once I rev it up to 1500+ or so, it goes away. Doesn't do it when cold either.

I'm hoping it's my A/C compressor (it doesn't work and makes all sorts of BAD BAD noises. The A/C delete bracket is in my living room) or my water pump.

Tonight I'm going to pull the belt off and see if it still does it. It sounds like it's coming from under the pass side head. If it still knocks, I'll drain the oil and check for metal.

I'm hoping it's the A/C compressor, since I'm removing it anyway.

Any other tips?

If it knocks faster as you rev it up..prolly rod bearing dude. At low idle it prolly won't knock, but will knock like no other when reved up. Do you have a stock bottom end? Runin any power adders?

it knocks deeper at idle. as i rev it, it sounds like a diesel jetta. when the car is cold, it makes no noise whatsoever...
