-IDEA- Would You support splitting the Terminator Forum into tech and show/talk

Mods should just go on a ramapage for a week and lock duplicate threads claiming use search. Then let's see what happens...

personally i think we should break it down into subcategories


The terminator------> -Engine
-Suspension
-Intake and exhaust
-Body exterior
-Interior
-wheels and tires
-pics
- problems FAQ

Prob will help with the numerous amounts of duplicated questions
subcategories will be smaller forums and easier to navigate

Why cant we think even more simplistically...just change the name of this forum to Terminator Talk, and make a sub listing for the modifications forum on the main page, right under where it says Terminator Talk. All your doing is just changing where the modification link to the mod room is located.

how about a place for people who refuse to search first or read the sticky threads at the top? the lousy signal:noise ratio is what kills the usefulness of this place. 50 threads of the same thing, times N number of subjects, is what causes this site to run so slow. people being lazy cause the database to have to index 100x what it should need to.

this thread is moot since it wont happen anyway. there's obviously enough interest in doing it, but if it were to happen, it would have already.

There is an overwelming amount of non technical threads in the terminator forum. To me, it seems like the good threads are getting lost because of overwelming "Corral/Lounge" type of posts.

Agreed. StangNet did it. Split off to SVT Talk. It works over there.

Besides this has got to be the slowest loading forum on the net.:rockon:

I wish you could choose how you search the forums. If I am looking for a specific type of information than I want to search by the type of discussion. Most of the time I am just surfing to see what I can find that is interesting. Then I would want to search all Terminator forums as I am not looking for a certain type of discussion.

Everyone keeps complaining about the duplicate posts. What do you expect when the search function never works. I can't wait until the new server is up. This is the slowest web page I use yet it is the web page I am on the most.
