I was brilliant in math in high school, so it made sense. I'm not complaining, as I've done very, very well. FYI, I have a couple of kids older than you.
Sweet jesus Brad, How old are you? My oldest is 14 and at this point I think you might have a grandkid that old, lol.

If I never saw another mother ****ing heat pump again it'd be too soon. I hate HVAC with every fiber of my being but it's a bottomless pit of money.

I wanted to join the military and regret not doing so everyday. The feeling of not doing something that matters day in and day out weighs on me more and more everyday.

You and me both…I’m not in HVAC though, I work in corporate America. Regret not joining almost everyday…the only saving grace is that seeing the country in its state now makes me thankful I never sacrificed for it.

My family has become accustomed to a lifestyle that Narrows the funnel on alternatives. I will keep pushing through in my current gig until retirement. I do wish at times I had a job where I could leave the problems at the door each night. I couldn’t even fathom that lifestyle.

The grass is always greener...

I used to be an electrician, now I drive, engineer and play with race cars professionally... the same shitty people will find a way to make it miserable (not always)

Im good friends with pilots and platinum rated Porsche hall of fame race car drivers and even they can be miserable at work.

I'm thinking of becoming a Democrat and just getting everything for free and living in a tree house.

I wold start a mobil Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) reset and calabration business.

We work with a company called AVSC and they make bank servicing all the local shops that don't have the equipment to calibrate all the new cars after repairs. They're opening up two more locations and they look like an awesome place to work for. Bunch of smart hick kids working for them and the owner drives a Raptor R and is building a 91 Bronco for his daughter. The initial investment is big to buy all the equipment but it's a very lucrative business.

I currently live in Monument Co. It is just north of Colorado Springs and just about 40 minutes south of Denver. I like my location a lot, but my other idea would be to sell out here. I'd the buy a place in Silverthorne Co, and run a handyman service to Breckinridge and Vail areas. The cost of living there is so high that there aren't many trades people around. I think I could push $250-300 an hour there. I would only take on jobs that I know I could easily get done. My buy in house price in Silverthorne would still probably be in the $1.5 million range.

I want to own a used car lot where I buy cool/unique/sport/low mileage cars and just flip them. 20-30 car inventory, just spend time buying cars and flipping then.

Not much of a career as much as “if I won a massive lottery and wanted to stay busy” idea.

Or get into porn.

(Straight porn… I guess I should clarify after some time posting questionable shit here)

I've been kicking around the idea of closing down my packaging company and getting into ammo manufacturing and firearms. The limiting factor to everything these days seems to be employees, more importantly the shitty attitude socialism has instilled in all of them.

I've gotten to the point where being a GC is just miserable. Between quality supply issues, overpriced shitty labor, complexity, and clients inspecting every nook and cranny, it has become impossible to want to keep doing this shit much longer. I often think what I would like to do. I don't have kids or bills, so it isn't about the money as much as it about getting my quality of life back to something normal. Most of what I want in life means dealing with less people and less employees.

I used to want to run a Jersey Mikes until Covid hit and I saw what service industry went through.
Build and run a self storage unit.
Build a carwash and run it.
Be a construction consultant and make other contractors lives hell. Lol, this is what my wife suggest, but I don't think I could live with myself knowing they are going through the same shit.

What kind of businesses are you all into that you actually like?

LMFAO......I saw the first sentence and was gonna be a smart ass and say come to Savannah, I got work for you here at my house and I am easy going.........

than I looked at your location under your avatar. Hmu

To your question, being an owner has to be stressful by itself.
Take your self out of the manager duties, work for the old man and **** off like normal employee (y)

We have enough Carwashes, Publix's, Parkers, and liquor stores here in the area already

I would have gotten in the car business right out of high school rather at the age of 28. Also should have been better with my money. I would be retired by now. The car biz is good to get in because you can make a lot of money at a young age. I have sales guys working or me that are 21-25 years old making $10k some months. That's a lot of money when you have no bills or responsibility.
