Bought a set of 99/01 Cobra tail lights off of frijol79 on here. Got them installed and wired up today. Took the hard way to wire them and dropped the steering column so I could remove the pin from the plug instead of cutting the wire itself (thanks to xsellr8).

Anyways, just a short video to show off the fruits of my labor.

Enjoy!

Such a HUGE waste of money. These things are going for $500+ on facebook. Why? $500 for two little amber lenses????

So the harnesses dont make them plug n play. I have a set that Im gonna Ebay here soon, they arent mint, but I was always curious how they worked in a non 99-01 Cobra, figured it would be a straight plug in swap

NO, they are not plug and play. You have to cut and rewire the 99/01 harness with the stock harness, then run a brake light wire to the 3rd brake light power supply, THEN disconnect the interrupter line under the dash. Not really a hard task, especially following the video links that xsellr8 made and posted on YouTube.

Because 01 cobras are damn sexy looking things and their some of their factory parts tend to be strong and can fetch quite a penny!

Alright, I figure if I list them, somebody might be under the impression that I was as well, thinking they just plugged right in lol. Good to know, thanks!

I never said you still have a 2v in yours.... But you dumped a bunch of money into what was a regular gt 2v to make a race car which is about the biggest waste of money out there but if that's what makes you happy that's great and who cares what anyone thinks.... Same as the op with these lights, except the fact that for about 10 minutes of his time he can easily get all his money back ;)

The simple answer to this question is because I can. I like them. I wanted them. I bought them.

Looks great. Also love that gallup on your giddy-up.

Thank you. The cams do emit an amazing symphony of pleasure to your ears!

Great sound and great look.

Thanks bro!!!

Looks good Doug.

Gracias Bradley!

I like the ambers, they look great on certain colors.

I agree that they do not look right on certain colors, but ANYTHING goes with silver.

Because 01 cobras are damn sexy looking things and their some of their factory parts tend to be strong and can fetch quite a penny!

I hate agreeing with you except this time.

Looks and sounds good.

Thank you!

There are several good instructionals out there on how to do the swap. xsellr8 has the been one that I found. Very thorough with 2 top notch "How To" videos on YouTube.

Not a yellow light fan, but those cams sound awesome!

Thanks!

Looks great. I've always liked those taillights.

Thank you!

I think those lights are one of the best visual modifications you can make. They look great on any color. There is a connector in the left kick panel you could have pulled the brake interrupt wire from. It would have been a little easier than dropping the steering column. That's how I did it on my 03. Your car looks great and sounds awesome! I really like silver.
