Pics from July 4th at Alaska Raceway Park. Local Driver Jamie Bodenstat went 5.44 @ 278mph in his AA/Fuel Altered. Lots of cars over 200mph including the Northern F/X and Rollin Thunder Jet Dragsters. Enjoy!

my roommate knows a girl in Alaska and has been to that track, what you guys probly dont know is that its the ONLY track in ALL of Alaska, and its open only two months out of the year. he has pictures of that black stang, its running a 289 and revs to about 6 or 7 grand on the launch... crazy

lol that track is cool as hell, i've been there when visiting my family in Anchorage. we always have a good time


then we go to this abandoned quarry outside town and light off boxes of fireworks

Yes it is the only drag strip in all of alaska. Its open mothers day to labor day.

That black mustang put the front end a good 2-3 feet off the ground on the launch. It was broke today though so i didnt get any good shots of it.

Those rocket powered cars sure do make some noise!

I don't miss living next to a flightline at all! Those F16 and other fighters were noisy as f*ck!

Wow, I didnt even know their were fast cars in alaska! Whats the DA like at that track?

Not sure what the DA is there. The Alaska Grizzly did set a track record for ET and MPH and was just a couple mph away from the national record for AA/altered fuel cars.

The DA in most cases when big boys show up is so good they overpower the track in most cases. Tym Lynch was up there last year and went into the 6's. Its been known to be well into the negatives in the cooler months in May.
