I have a lot of reading to do on the GT500s as this is my first one I have owned. Have had Cobras and other 5.0 Mustangs in the past, including a 2015 GTPP that had a ton of mods on it.
I am looking for feedback on going axle back or cat back on these cars. I seem to be leaning towards a Corsa or Stainless Works setup.
Is it worth switching out the the factory h-pipe and replacing it with another aftermarket one? Is there power to be made by doing so? I know on my '15, switching out a catback and resonator did not net any power, it was all for sound.
Are the preferred CAIs going to be PMAS, JLT or Steeda? I know a tune is required for those and will be using Rob Shoemaker for that.
What about headers on these cars? Do they make a decent bump in HP over the factory headers when combined with a tune, CAI and pulley change?
It seems these cars are close to 700/700 with pulley, 93 tune, CAI and headers. I assume if the tune is spot on and you continue to use good gas, the motor will live a long life at those power levels?
Thanks for any feedback.
