I jumped on the supercharged bandwagon and made 3 passes last night at Atco raceway.

My set up :

2013 Mustang GT 5.0 automatic
Roush TVS with 82mm pulley
JLT cold air
Magna flow competition 3 inch cat back exhaust
1 piece aluminum drive shaft
Mickey Thompson ET street 2 drag radial size P245/40R18
Stock rear gears , stock trans , stock suspension and stock converter.

Temp was 60 degrees during my runs.

1st run was 11.18 at 126.27 , 2nd run was 11.13 at 126.80 and 3rd run was 11.16 at 126.45

60 ft was 1.66 for the 1st and 3rd runs and 1.65 for the 2nd run.

It felt like I hooked with no wheel spin.

I'm wondering if I should be going quicker than 11.1's with what my set up is.

I did notice that when my car shifted from 3rd to 4th gear my tach lit up red and the engine seemed to tap my rev limiter on all 3 of my runs.

Could that be slowing me ET wise ?

MPH is there but not the high 10's I was hoping for.

you are motoring very well.. this time of year at Atco the DI is cave level so your HP will be maximum and looking at a 126.5mph trap speed with a somewhat heavy car and OK 60' time you are on track with a somewhat high speed big end car. Add a stall converter alone and the 126.5mph trap speed is solid to mid ten second range.. so you have the HP, but can't use it all.

Headers would unlock more HP but not fix the slow ish 60'. I would love to hit a 60' time of 1.68! i'm lucky to get 1.85 and that's also with drag radials.. manual trans launches are super touchy.

Need to have your tune adjusted if it's hitting the limiter. Who tuned it? Also what rpms is it shifting at?

Off road xpipe with a fresh tune and a stall = mid 10's

Solid runs for your first time out!

Do NOT waste your money on a stall converter! Data log your runs, you probably need a little more timing down low & taken out higher in the revs.

If your hitting the rev limiter it will remove the variable cam timing & slow your car down...

Just keep playing with it. Have someone video the launch & data log your runs.

I want to avoid changing converter stall and gears.

Its my daily driver and I'd like to keep my fuel economy and drive ability.

My goal and expectation was 10.85.

If I can pull that off , I'd be more than happy.

The only reason I went with an 82mm pulley , Magna flow cat back and JLT cold air was my hopes of reaching a 10.85.

Scott , I did what you said about the tire heat up and launch procedure.

I worked beautiful !!!

The car hooked nice.

I felt and heard NO tire spin or wheel hop.

I think it must be my 3rd to 4th shift point because the car flattened a split second when the tach lit up red.

Thank again for the tips.

Cat backs don't really add power... An off road pipe would though. What's your timing and lambda?

An 82mm is a good choice for pump gas & CAI.

No problem on the tips, I'm glad it helped!

You gotta datalog so you know why you ran good/bad. If not your like Ray Charles out there. There are 10 questions I could ask. You don't need fats/skinnies either.

Brett,

As I said in my email to you; We tuned the car on your street tires as per requested. Your track tires are 1.4" shorter changing the effective ratio and ultimately how we programmed the car to shift. Bring the car by with your track tires on it and we will tweak the shifting so it stays off the limiter. With that change alone I bet you will get close to your goal on a good track day.

Congrats on running the same MPH as the Fat Cat for a whole lot less!

Hope all is well.
