Use a jack and jack up at that H or X when everything is loose. Leave the jack and tighten all the bolts. I still hit quite a bit, but this should help you out a bit.

With my old catted x (pretty sure it was magnaflow) it never scraped, except really tall speed bumps. Now I have some o/r h (no name on it) and it literally scrapes over everything... hangs low. In to see what setup people have that don't scrape. I have factory manifolds too btw.

My car has Kooks LT and their x-pipe with borla stinger exhaust with H&R racesprings hasnt scraped any yet. I do however avoid speedbumps all together if I can. Guess im one of the lucky ones..

Bassani X pipe
Bassani IRS catback

Can't say I've ever scraped the exhaust. K member brace has taken a beating, however.

Prochamber, Stingers and lowered quite a bit. Only hit once on a killer speed bump in one of the shopping plazas.

H&R Sport Springs, with ISO's. When I had a UPR O/RX I scraped here and there. If I was moving pretty good over a bump I would, rarely on speed bumps. With the Longtubes the clearance is better. Thinking about taking my ISO's out to lower her a little more.

I only scrap going over speed bumps too quick....if I take my time, no scraping what so ever!

Hi All;
New poster. I have an 04 Cobra with Eibach Proline springs and bars and Ford Racing cat backs, amongst other minor stuff and with the stock set up it seldom hit speed bumps unless they were huge or I was too fast.
However one cat went south, so I purchased a set Magnaflow Direct Fit pipes with high flow cats,,,They , the cats themselves hang so low I'm almost afraid to drive it. They hung up bad on a small bump leaving the muffler shop.
I think they are designed that way because they no shield and they need to have a large clearance to the floor. Big waste of $$ in my opinion.
I thought about loosening them and seeing if I could hold them up higher but I'm not sure I want to because of the heat,,even thought about wrapping them but then they would imo still be too low.
I'm thinking of buying the SLP equivalent as they have shields and look like they might be a little higher. They customer service guy at SLP of course said they have only heard a complaint once or twice out of thousands,,yeah of course what else would he say.
Any input or suggestions? If this is the wrong thread I'm sorry

I also have, stock manifolds, bassani catted x pipe, bassani catback, h&r race springs with all iso's. Also saleen 18inch replicas and I've NEVER scraped on anything. The dip going into my driveway is pretty bad too.

In some cases it would be helpful if folks were to also state if they have ISO's in or not. But fwiw, rubbing a little bit and not negotiating something simple as a speed bump will cause my cats to rub slightly.

But if I slow down, take most inclines or declines at an angle I have no problem.

H&R Race No ISO's, stock manifolds, Hi Flow X pipe, SLP1 catback. My mufflers NEVER hit due to the design.

When I installed the coilovers I slammed the car as much as I could. On top of that I have LT headers and a 3" catback so I hit all the time... both front and rear. It sits so low that I have to put two 2x4 under each wheel to get a jack under the car. I'm gonna raise the car to a more reasonable height so I don't bottom out all the time.
