Last good driving weekend before hibernation

This past weekend was the last chance to get some fun in with the car here in the Midwest. I had plans to meet some old friends from PA and VA in Ohio to hang out and do a Hocking Hills drive. We had a pretty fun crew: R35 GT-R, my GT350R, and a pair of Lotuses (supercharged Exige and a more-stock Elise). We joined up with a local crew including another handful of fun machinery. A few people brought their more "regular" cars as temps were in the 30s with intermittent rain and even a bit of sleet. Not ideal weather for cars on basically slick tires, but we weren't idiots and there were no issues (though I did have a pretty big sideways moment in a wet leaf-covered corner). We swapped cars some; it was really fun to hop from GT350R to GT-R to Elise as the cars couldn't feel more different.

Great weekend overall; I doubled the miles on the car (now at ~1580) and look forward to changing the factory oil fill and detailing the car before putting it away for the winter.

One of the crew got some good rolling shots; here is one of my car for now and if there is appetite I'll add some of the others.

It IS pretty badass, isn't it? I feel pretty lucky. And it is seriously fun.

I don't have a ton of great shots yet--it really needs a good detailing. Here are a couple of the crappy shots I have.

Here it is with a friend's 500 RWHP, twin-turbo LS1-powered E28 BMW:

And back when the weather was a bit warmer ...

... and at the opposite end of the "how to build a sports car" philosophical spectrum, here's that Elise I mentioned. With a cat delete, it spits some really delightful flames on upshifts!

It'll likely be spring before I have it out for some real photos, sadly.

Your car is absolutely beautiful. Glad to see the tire issue is a thing of the past. I so badly want a 350R in lightning blue. The rolling shot is spectacular

Thanks guys! It is a treat. And yes, all the other tires have been fine, as well as the new one on the same wheel (and for the record, the same tire pressure monitor was used and it is working perfectly.

Credit to a great photographer for the rolling shot; all I did was steer straight!

That rolling shot turned me from wanting Avalanche w/ black stripes to Lightning Blue and stripless. That car is amazing.
