I recently picked up a 2007 Z71 after selling my GT a few weeks back. After I tint it I plan on throwing a leveling kit on it and some all-terrains. So far I like the Nitto Terra Grapplers but I am still on the fence.

So post what you have and the sizes please!

highway crawler mostly? Those terra's will be great.

I have Mickey Thompson Baja Claw radials. 35*12.5*17. Great all around tire. Little noisy on the highway but offroad they are amazing. You'll need a smaller size.

My truck has the snowplow kit from the factory so it sits level.

38X15.50XR20 Toyo Open Country M/T

I have owned a set of 37X12.50XR17 BFG M/T and 2 sets of 38X15.50XR17 Parnelli Jones and the Toyo are alot nicer IMHO.

BFG M/T. if you plan to go off road at all, these tires are hard to beat performance wise. plus the road noise is minimal and the mileage is great...

7" or so Superlift lift...325/60 20 Nitto TG...not a good offroad tire by any means...but great all around tire. Got good mileage out of them too. Sold this truck to get my current truck which is a 06 Dodge 4x4 with a cummins in it.

and to the OP....id stick with something in the 285-295 area or maybe a 33" on a 9" wheel with only a leveling kit...ive had two silverados and they are notorious for having horrible fender designs to clear big tires...

most newer Fords and Dodges can clear 37s on stock wheels with 3"-4.5" kits

Get a leveling kit...crank up the torsion bars a little...and throw on some BFG A/Ts...they are the best IMHO...have them on my 1994z71 with a 3" body lift...best truck in the world...hence, the screen name

Im not a big fan of the terragrapplers.

Look into the Copper Discover STTs. They're more of a mud tire but they have good wear and run about the same price as an all-terrain.

My favorite all-terrain has to be the BFGs though. Just a solid tire with good wear and decent off-road capabilities.
