I posted this on SEFB.NET. Most of the guys are in the Carolinas.
What's the criteria? Completely stock? Drag radials? Tune allowed?

If you were in Charleston I'd see you Sunday when it's 75 degrees. Otherwise driving over 6 hours there and back to race a car I'll probably see here very soon isn't all that appealing. My engine is mostly stock.. tb/cai/tune. Not everyone who looks at the thread has a stock GT500 in driving distance.

I think at the strip, the Hellcat is gonna win more often than not. They cut sub 1.7 second 60 foots stock, which is impossible for a stock GT500, even with DR's because of the clutch protection. Even modded/tuned guys on DR's have a hard time getting 60 foots like that. There's a guy on Hellcat.org that is stock on NT555R's making consistent high 10 second passed at 128mph. And he's a beginner to drag racing. I'm interested in a roll race between the 2, the trap speeds are so close, that would be interesting.

Not doubting the car can run well, but this vid certainly doesn't make it seem like a "beginner" is going to be putting down the power with his eyes closed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE-mB028nGc

On stock tires, no way. We definitely have a fighting chance if the Hellcat is on street tires. Totally different story with drag radials.

Remember this guy?

This is Johnny, he's over on Hellcat.org. This video was from his first time ever at the drag strip.

Since this video, he got himself a set of NT555R's and practiced. He's still far from a seasoned veteran at Drag racing, but check out this video of how he's doing now with a several more passes on drag radials under his belt.

The car is certainly fast as hell, and much easier to get those times with it's automatic transmission. Our cars certainly have their work cut out for them stock vs stock
