Does anybody have any tips on how to get melted plastic bag off of an exhaust pipe? Already tried scraping it off - no luck. It's like trying to scrape off JB Weld.:mj:
Don't ask how it got there.:cuss:

I ran over a plastic seat cover. It melted to the drivers side cat and pipe. Your best bet is to use a scotch brite pad and finish the job with a scraper.
Smells good every time you come to a stop doesn't it?
Yup. Get the pipe hot and wipe off as much as you can while it's still semi-melted with a cotton rag and then scrub it. You might have to repeat that a few times, I did.Originally posted by Stang2WRX
Try getting it nice and hot, then use mothers polish and a terry-cloth rag.
Worked for me whenever my boots melted to the pipe on my CBR

OMG...when I read the title to this thread I thought you had been crawling around up under the car after a 1/4 mile run and burnt your nuts on a catalytic converter or something.
Whew. "Glad" to hear it was a *plastic* bag.
