I recently bought a KB 2.2 for my Cobra that i sent out to KB for a total overhaul front to back just for peace of mind . It got the works , new bearings, seals, gears, snout upgrade, hardware, polish , everything. While finding time to pull my ported Eaton off today which also just recently got an overhaul while getting ported, i noticed that when you spin the pulleys by hand on both in comparison the KB seams much tighter and a little harder to spin quickly when compared to the ported M112. Is this because the rotors on a twin screw are heavier than the rotors on the roots style Eaton? Or maybe because the KB is all redone and just feels tight?

Nothing is rubbing or grinding on the KB or anything like that , it’s very smooth , it’s just you can’t give it a good spin and it keeps spinning free for a second or so . This may be a stupid question but i just thought I’d ask. I’m a worrier by nature lol. You guys think I’m good before i go and install it? Thanks guys

New seals and bearings. It's going to be harder to turn.

Are you actually going to be able to enjoy the blower? You're overly worried and it's not even installed yet.

You're not alone, as far as worrying unnecessarily. We all fret over start to varying degrees. LOL. You're going to love the performance upgrade with the Kenne Bell.

After you do the install, you've GOT to return here to post up your impressions.

The land of commies and socialists!
You're comparing two compressors that function differently for starters. That in itself will make them feal different when sound by hand.

I can also tell you my 2.1 had about 10k since its rebuild and still doesn't free wheel when hand spun.

Sounds like you’re better off just not modding your car at all
