Can one tune a GT's suspension better than Ford's Performance Pack for way less money? If so, show us a parts list!

There's way more to the PP than shocks and struts. To turn a non PP into a PP would cost much much more than the PP.

Once the FRPP brake and suspension packages are released you'll essentially be able to put it together yourself (though the FRPP suspension will be more aggressive than the factor PP). Still you can piece together a much more potent package from the aftermarket than the Ford equipment.

If you have not ordered a car yet, consider ordering with the Performance Package. There is more than just springs and shocks. For the money it is a fairly comprehensive package that would cost you a considerable amount more in parts and labor after the fact. The rear differential alone makes it worth it.

^ As stated above, the Performance Pack is worth every bit of that $2495 price.

Just the brakes, the rear gear/diff, and the wheels and tires make it worth the price, then you have everything else.

To answer, I think it would be best for someone to buy a PP....then upgrade the bars, springs and dampers. Those mods, with some better tires, and you will essentially have a race ready street car, that will perform amazingly.

This is pretty much my initial build plan for my PP, with 11" wide wheels and complete set of suspension bushings from a certain vendor :-D

The Torsen and the brakes are what really makes the package (though the gauges are a nice touch).

Inside information from the Ford engineers indicated they preferred the Akebono Brake package to the PP Brembo package. :poke:
