So my job is transferring me from Florida to right outside of Toledo in January. My cobra is going to have to start being my daily driver for at least 2 months possibly for a long time. I have been contemplating selling the cobra and purchasing a truck. I thought I would come on here and see what others would do. Maybe someone that has been in the same situation.

sell it only if it's going to hinder ur lifestyle, meaning, u absolutely need a truck and can't own both. otherwise keep the Cobra.

Driving a cobra in NW Ohio in Jan-March would not be a smart thing to do.

Not impossible, but not smart. Have you ever been there before? The roads are really bad, and that's without snow and ice.

Who did you piss off in your life to score a job transfer from sunny FL to shithole Toledo???

Buy a $500 Escort beater as a daily driver..........put some 4 x 4 wood bumpers on the front and back and you'll fit right in.

+1 to buying a cheap beater to get you around in the winter. My car doesn't have near the horsepower of a Cobra and it is currently stuck in the parking lot right now due to snow.

I'm going up 2 weeks before my wife, so I have to drive the cobra for those weeks, but after that I'll drive her suv which is awd until she finds a job or whatever. In Orlando we car pull daily because we work almost next door to each other, but up there who knows. Right now I drive the cobra like 100 miles a month at most. I really don't want a beater, I would rather have the cobra or a really nice 4x4 truck. I just don't want to make a decision I will regret.

No thanks to THAT offer. If you have no choice in the matter, take some vacation time before starting in OH and look elsewhere in FL for a different employer!

You'll regret it.

If you have to move, as others have said, buy a cheap beater and use that for the winter. Keep the cobra.

We actually want to move. Florida is not as great as everyone seems to think. We were happy when my work asked me to move. We are not florida natives, but have lived here 8 years and you begin to miss the seasons. Not to mention you get tired of all the dick heads here. Also, Orlando was ranked #3 worst city in the nation to raise a family.

Well NW Ohio is the Meth Capital of the midwest, just an FYI.

I don't think Toledo is all that bad. I have lived in worse. Keep the cobra. If you only have to drive it around for a couple of weeks, then you will be fine. Drive your wifes SUV, until you find a beater or truck.

The roads in Toledo are not as bad as Michigan roads. Can't think of one place where they are paved in gold anyway.

BTW welcome to Toledo.

nothing wrong with toledo. welcome to the midwest, you won't regret moving out of shithole orlando. i lived in florida for a year and couldn't stand it.

and yes, you'll need a beater for the winter. keep the cobra--you should be able to drive it april through october and sometimes in march/november. you will definitely need fwd or awd/4wd for december/jan/feb, and one that you don't care about getting road salt on.

look at the recent list by forbes, of the top small cities in the country---you won't find anything other than midwest. i live in the #2 small city.
