I've been using IE for a long time now. Today, the pop ups finally pissed me off enough to try out Firefox.

I downloaded it (~4.5 megs), and installed it in a couple minutes. To my surprise, it took all my Favorites from IE and put them on the Firefox browser. Less work is always good. :-D

The result: NO MORE POP UPs!!!   And as an added bonus, my computer is running faster then it has in over a year. :pepper: :pepper: :pepper:

Before installing Firefox, I was plagued by pop ups. It seemed almost every page I clicked on, I'd get at least 1 pop up. The infamous "About:Blank", "Weight Loss Patch", "Registry Cleaner", etc etc etc. :mj: I tried adaware, did nothing. In fact, after installing adaware I seemed to get more pop ups. Also tried spybot (i think thats the name of it), that also did nothing.

Now I am FREE of the pop ups. Thank God, or whoever made Firefox. If you find yourself in the same boat as I was in, I recommend installing Firefox. Its quick, easy, and should solve your browser problems.

It will transfer them when you do the download. I really like the Firefox!! You can hit "control + T" and have tabs for all the different sites you are looking at across the top and go back and forth instantlly.

Why not just use Netscape 7.1. It has a built in pop-up blocker, and you can customize your home page with everything you like from stocks, to sports, and downloads. It works perfect....

Plus you can add new tabs to the browser. This enables you to have as many pages open at once while only using one browser. When you open Firefox all the saved tabs will open and reload all the saved pages. It pretty much rocks.

this is the lamest excuse I've ever heard for getting Firefox. Do you not have XP SP2?

Nope, I don't like XP so I'm still using Windows 2000. I don't care how lame it is. Your opinion doesn't matter. Fact is, it works. Not just for me, but obviously for other people too. And if you have a problem with that, then that makes you lame. ;-) Come on, what you said makes no sense whatsoever. Its lame because it fixed my computer. Ok.

I tried out firefox thanks to a recccomondation from a friend. love it. loads a lil quicker. I didnt get much pop ups with IE because of the pop up blockler I had but I Get less spyware. I dont understand why but I do. I run the same spyware blockers etc.

I love the mouse scroll button plug in tho....rocks...

Firefox is amazing. Cool feature: use the scroll wheel to click on links. It brings them up in a new tab. It's awesome for clicking a bunch of threads then looking at them later, and it excels at looking at porn. :)
