I had a friend call and ask me if I'd help him work on a piece of his equipment, to get it ready for the busy summer season. I should have known what I was in for, when he started asking to borrow my buffer, lol.

Anyway, I spent sunday afternoon buffing an '02 Case IH MX270. It had only been hand rubbed in times past with some cheap Turtle Wax rubbing compound, and the paint had startd to chalk really badly, and needed some attention. I buffed it, but didnt get a chance to finish the wax job. Will probably go out there this afternoon or tomorrow to get wrapped up.

Here's a few pics:

After 2 stages of buffing with 3M's Super Ultra Rubbing Compound and their Perfect-It machine Polish:

-Random, I know, but I'm an instant gratification type of guy, and I always enjoy helping others increase value in equipment that they use to fuel their passions. He's a single-man operation in the Dirt Construction field, and has had a hard time in the last year or so, between the slow economy and the crappy weather. I figured this would be a helluva way to help him see the brighter side, and it made for a good birthday present, since I missed it on the 2nd.

Anyone else need one done? I might just do this for some side cash! :headbang:

It was a lot of work... Much more than I anticipated. The results were well worth it, though.

I'll get right on that tire shine... Just gotta find my 55 gal drum and garden sprayer :D

Thanks guys, I'm pretty proud of it. Hoping I can get more jobs like this that pay... I'd do this all the time, as long as the money was right.

You did a heck of a nice job on it. Dressing those monster tires would make it even nicer, but now we're talking another half day. LOL!
