I have one of them there built t45's n thus far it has taken everything I have thrown at it and then some... Hoping to put another bolt on b head in the 11's once it cools around here.

I'm with Todd on this though... For a no power adder n/a car t45 or 3650 is where it's at. Not to mention I know and have driving a few t56 cars, cobras and a modified GTO t56 swapped to modular bell and they r notchy as crap, the t45 is so smooth through the gear changes.

All I was getting at is he went from 3.3x 1st gear with a 3.27 rear to a 4.56 rear with a 2.9x or 2.6 1st gear... That almost negated every bit of his gear swap. Just saying.. If u crunched the numbers I bet it would b like going from a 3.27-3.55 gear or something. Sure it's nice to have that .50 ratio for highway cruising... But if u chose to 4.56 the car then the concern shouldn't have been mileage.. At 70 on 26" tires my car turns 28-2900, not terrible.

To each their own though..

The T56 is so smooth, it's crazy. MGW shifter, FTW.

And on DR's with the 4.56's/T45, it would just blitz the tires no matter what I did. With the 4.56's/T56, it's a touch easier to manage.

gear ratios
______1_____2____3_____4____5____6
t45__3.37__1.99__1.33__1.00__0.67
t56__2.66__1.78__1.30__1.00__0.80__0.63

I'm not seeing where the T45 will result in bogging or very high RPMs in any gear when the rearend has at least 4.10s. In my 96 I could take off in second and pass in fifth.

Lmao.. You've started a t56 hate thread.. I guess the fact that you lost no time in the 1/4, and proved it with slips means nothing.

4.56 swap alone woulda dropped your times with the t45... And woulda helped out mph... Purpose of Doing the gear swap was to gain some et n mph, not run the same exact or close to the same thing as u did with stock rear gear n trans

The purpose of HIS gear swap was to make up for the gear difference in the t56.. It's HIS car guys, he wanted a t56, he has one, and he's happy with it.. What part of that do you people not get.

K so HE showed that 4.56's with a t56, is no better than a stock gear with a t45 at the track... If he's trying to go faster in the 1/4 the t56 hurt.. Not helped. That's what we r pointing out... He coulda saved the 2-3k or whatever it cost him swap trannies n gears, n put it towards something else.

Yeah, we got that. We've also established that he doesn't care about what time he would have potentially gained by keeping the t45.. No need to bring it up every time he posts times

Ps, the 456 gears were in there with the t45 and he was running somewhere around 13.3 iirc

Then he wasn't hooking it. No way going from a 3.27-4.56 isn't gonna help.

Hell I went from 4.10 to 4.56 n from 275/50/15 to a 28x11.5x15 and still dropped .2 off my previous best times, on the same 60' same kinda weather n da.

I will give him a challenge though... Throw full bolt ons on it and run 11's with it. :)
