They are much cheaper should you damage them.

Sorry for not stating it clearly, I wasn't referring to the carbon wheels as comparison. Are the R spec N4SM wheels better for track duty than non R spec N4SM wheels?

From a pure performance perspective? No. They take reducing unsprung weight and rotating mass to a whole 'nother level. They also allow for a larger lug nut/seat than the R-Specs (which mandate a physically smaller nut).

The R-Spec is all about bang for the buck and I think it brings home the bacon in that regard rather well. It isn't perfect and can no doubt be improved. Hopefully N4S tweaks it a bit to make it better.

To answer questions about track performance, these wheels are roughly 5-7 lbs lighter than the stock 350 wheels so there is a performance advantage there. However, for track duty, these wheels may be a bit less than ideal. The wheel barrel clearance to the top of the caliper is VERY tight. For that reason you may get some debris scuffing on the top of the caliper and the inner wheel barrel.
