I have watched blurays on all brands. In my opinion nothing comes close to a Sony for picture quality.

I have a ps3 also great picture..

I only rent or watch blue ray disks. Sometimes I like to watch 3D movies and that's where my OPPO comes in.

Over all I'm not sure if blue ray is blue ray, but I feel there is deffinatly a quality difference being that the oppo has up scaling components etc
